3.  I used Red Heart Super Saver for the bassinet in the photo.
4.  The doll pictured was purchased at Dollar Tree.

Change to I (5.5 mm) crochet hook.

Rounds 6-9: Ch 2 (counts as an fpdc), bpdc around next st.  *Fpdc around next st, bpdc around next st.  Repeat from * around.  Join with a slipstitch around ch 2 as if to front post. (80 sts)

Round 11: Ch 1, (does not count as an hdc), hdc in same chain as slip stitch and each post stitch around. Join with slipstitch in back loop of first hdc.  Don’t pull this one tight.  Place a marker in the two front loops of the same hdc.  (80 sts)

Round 12: Slipstitch in the back loop of each hdc. Join with slipstitch in front loop of first slipstitch (one that was the join of round 11.  Pull slip stitch tight. (80 sts)

Round 13: Slipstitch into the 2 marked loops of the first hdc of round 11, pull slip stitch tight do not remove marker.  You will be working behind the slip stitch round.  Ch 2 (does not count as a dc), turn, working in the two remaining loops of the hdc of round 11, *2 dc in the next stitch (not the marked st), dc in next st.  Repeat from * around..  Make last dc in the marked st.  Before joining count your stitches and see if you have 119.  If not fudge it in the last two sts to make it come out to 119.  Then remove marker.  Join with slipstitch in first dc. Pull the slip stitch tight.  (119 dc)

Round 14-15: Ch 2 (does not count as a dc), dc in same st as join, dc in each dc around. Join with slipstitch in first dc.  Pull the slip stitch tight.  (119 dc)

Round 16:  Ch 3 (counts as sc and ch 2), skip 2 sts (count the st with the slip stitch in it as one of the skipped sts), sc in next st.   *Ch 2, skip 2 sts, sc in next st.  Repeat from * around.  Ch 2 and join with slipstitch in first ch of ch 3.  Pull the slip stitch tight.  (40 loops)

Now you need to decide if you are going to make the bassinet all one color or with contrasting yarn on the last round.

If you are working all in one color DO NOT fasten off.  Go to One Color Round 17.

For a contrast round, fasten off and use one of the Optional Contrast Rounds.

One Color Round 17:  Ch 3 (counts as a dc), 4 dc in same st (beginning shell).  *5 Dc (shell) in next sc.  Repeat from * around.  Join with a slipstitch in top of ch 3.  Pull the slip stitch tight.   (40 shells)   Fasten off.

Option 1 Contrast Round 17: Join contrasting yarn with a slipstitch in same st as join.  Ch 3 (counts as a dc), 4 dc in same st (beginning shell).  *5 Dc (shell) in next sc.  Repeat from * around.  Join with a slipstitch in top of ch 3.  (40 shells)

Fasten off.
Option 2 Contrast Round 17: (this option doesn’t use as much yarn as option1)  Join contrasting yarn with a slipstitch in same st as join.  Ch 3 (counts as a dc), 5 dc in same st (beginning shell).  *slip stitch (don’t pull tight) in next sc.  6 dc (shell) in next sc.  Repeat from * around.  Join with a slipstitch in top of ch 3.  (20 shells)

Fasten off.

If making all one color the top edging round isn’t really needed.

Contrasting Top Edging: Attach contrasting yarn in any slipstitch of round 12.  Rev sc in each slipstitch of round 12 (you will actually be working under the slipstitches into round 11).  Do not join, fasten off and use the yarn needle to join and weave in end.

Drawstrings (make 2):  With either color, make a ch 36" long (approximately 125 ch).  Fasten off.

Starting at one end of bassinet, weave drawstring in and out of the ch 2 loops of round 16.  Tie ends of chain together.

Starting at the opposite end weave second drawstring in and out of the ch 2 loops of round 12 and tie ends of chain together at opposite end of bassinet.

Optional Tassel:  I like to cut 8 pieces of yarn about 6 inches long and using my yarn tapestry needle pull through 2 pieces at end of each tie and tie an overhand knot.

Yoked Sweater

Yoked Sweater
by Kathy Pennington
Inspired by a friend who makes Suzetta Williams Baby Vest Garter Ridges for charity all the time, her granddaughter, a teenager,  wanted one for herself.  She searched for weeks and could not find the exact pattern she wanted.  In a conversation we wanted to give it a try, so we contacted Suzie and I set out to create this sweater.  Her granddaughter loved it.
I would like to thank Suzie and Erin for their inspiration and Erin for testing the pattern.  I hope others enjoy it also.
